Chris had a difficult childhood growing up in the States with a mother who was unstable and neglectful. He has trouble controlling his temper and can fly into a rage at a drop of a hat. Christmas Angel - EPISODE 1: Twelve Drummers Drumming

***

Scene: Christmas Parade

Twelve men in matching uniform are drumming and marching in unison.

People around them are clapping and cheering

***

Scene: In a plain and very tidy bedroom.

A radio alarm clock turns on.

Radio DJ:  “Hey! Wakey wakey everyone!  It's the first day of December!  Can you believe it's almost the end of 2010 ?  Here's one of your favorites, The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole. (the song starts to play) “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose....”

Carol immediately turns off the radio and gets up.  A look of pain crosses her face.

Carol: (thinking) Just a few more days Carol, all this Christmas stuff will be over.  You have to focus on your important meeting today.

She goes to the bathroom to get ready.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 2: Eleven Pipers Piping

***

Scene: At a busy street

A NAWASA pipe busted and eleven workers from MWSS arrive to fix it.

***

Scene: Noelle's condo.

Noelle is a high society girl that Chris has been having a physical relationship with for several months now.  After coitus, Chris and Noelle are lounging in bed.

Chris: Noelle, how about we go see a movie tomorrow?  I haven't seen a movie in a while.

Noelle: Umm, naah, I don't really like movies.

Chris: Let's go to the beach then.

Noelle: Ugh, I hate the beach.  Sand gets everywhere.

Chris: Let's go out to a nice dinner then.

Noelle: Why? We can eat here or I'll just cook for you.

Chris: I'm not an idiot.  I know you don't want to be seen with me.

Noelle: Babe, I told you, my friends are such snobs, they just aren't ready to see us together yet.

Chris: If they are such snobs, then why do you hang out with them?

Noelle: I've know Joy, Holly and Ivy forever.  Our families know each other.  I can't just drop them.

Chris: I'm starting to think you are as snooty as they are.

Noelle:  What?! If I am, would I be with you? I'm offended.

She pretends to sulk.  Chris is not buying it.

Noelle: Babe, please be more patient.

Chris: You've been saying that for months.  I want a commitment from you now!

Noelle: umm…

Chris: I've had it!  I'm through being jerked around by you! We're through!

Chris gets up and quickly puts his clothes on.  He dashes out of the condo and into his car.

Noelle: No, wait! Chris, please...

Noelle gets dressed and follows him but she's too late.

Noelle: (thinking) Seemed like he really meant it this time.  Hope I don't lose the best lay I ever had. … Hmm, he'll come back.  I'll make sure of that….  Now what should I wear today.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 3: Ten Lords-a-leaping

***

Scene: Cultural Center of the Philippines

There are banners announcing the performance of “Dix Danseur De Ballet”

At the lobby.  Chris and Melchor are talking.

Melchor: Why are you dressed like that? I told you this was formal.

Chris: This IS my formal, what are you talking about!

Melchor: You look so untidy!  You look like a hoodlum.  You need to shave, you need and a haircut!

Chris: If you have such a problem with me, I really don't know why you dragged me here.

Melchor: You need to be exposed to something other than that godawful lowbrow rap music.

Chris: What? Eminem transcends rap, yo!

Melchor: This is culture, you might even enjoy it.

Chris:  No way!  Last thing I want to see is ten dudes in tights prancing around.

Carol walks over to them.  She's wearing an old fashioned black shapeless velvet gown and her sensible shoes.  Her hair is in a tight bun like always.

Chris barely glances at her.

Carol: Good evening.  Mr Pascual, I want to thank you again for inviting me this evening.

Mr. Pascual: You are very welcome, Miss Baltazar.  I hope you have a nice time tonight.  Are you a fan of the ballet?

Chris: Yeah, she probably enjoys seeing men in tights prancing around.  Ha ha

Carol: (ignoring Chris) Yes! I so enjoy the ballet.  I've heard this group is amazing and has toured all over the world.

Melchor: Yes.  They are using the music from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, one of my favorites.

Carol: Oh, I didn't realize they are using Christmas music.

People start to walk to the auditorium.

Melchor: Let's go in.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 4 : Nine Ladies Dancing

***

Scene: Club Elf.  A trendy nightclub managed by Chris' friend Joseph.

Nine girls were dancing in various stages throughout the club.  The girls are wearing sexy santa's elves outfits.  The club is full of patrons who are dancing and drinking.

Chris and Joseph are in the office where they can still see all the action.  They have some beers in front of them.

Joseph: Are you sure, man? Sounds like Noelle is dicking you around like she always does.

Chris: No man.  I think she's sincere this time.

Joseph: What exactly happened?

Chris: She called me up.  We had long talk.

Joseph: Let me guess, you met at her condo.

Chris: So what, it's a good place to talk.  She told me she loves me.

Joseph: Whoa! That's new.

Chris: I'm a happy man.  I'm gonna ask her to marry me.

Joseph: Huh? Doesn't she still want to hide your relationship?

Chris: Actually, she finally introduced me to some people as her boyfriend.  I'm seriously thinking maybe I should become a 'willow.'  I really do want Noelle to be proud of me.  I guess Lolo too.

Joseph:  Willow? What are you talking about?

Chris: Here! (grabs a magazine that is laying around) Her!  Lolo wants her to help me with my (air quotes) issues.

Joseph: (looking at the magazine page, which has a small black and white photo of Carol's face) “Ask Ms. Carol” Oh she's good.  She gives great advice.

Chris: Don't tell me you read this BS.

Joseph: I do!  And it's not BS.  Besides I think Ms Carol is kind of hot.

Chris: You weirdo!  She's like your mom or your aunt. I met her in person.  She's so uptight, I think she's got a stick up her ass.

Joseph: Dude! The older gals are the bomb!  Besides, the ones that are wound tight are usually the best once you have, (dramatic) unleashed the tigress inside. Rowr!  It's like a dam that's been holding all this water for so long will burst! And all you can do is just hang on and try not to drown.  It's awesome! Can I meet her?

Chris: Ha ha, you're a crazy mofo!

Joseph: I'm serious dude! Oh, and who did Noelle introduce you to as her boyfriend?

Chris: Her maids.  (At a look from Joseph) I know, I know, but its a start.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 5: Eight Maids-a-milking

***

Scene: Kringle Street

Carol is sitting at one of the public benches outside the “Nieve's Jewelry Store”

Eight pretty young promo girls carrying boxes of milk chocolate are walking on up and down the street to offer samples and sell the chocolate.

Promo girl: Ma'am, would you care to have a sample? This is the finest Belgian milk chocolate.

Carol: (looking at the chocolate, she gulps) No, thank you.

***

Scene: Inside the jewelry store.

Chris is walking around the store, looking at the different rings on display.

The three salesladies are watching him closely but they pretend to ignore him. He looks out of place in this fancy-schmancy store.

Chris: Can I see this ring, please? (pointing to a ring on display)

Silence. The three salesladies, Faith, Hope and Charity are ignoring him.

Chris: Excuse me, can I see this ring please?

Faith: (big sigh) “Sir”, you mean this three carat, pear cut, diamond ring with two trapezoid cut diamonds, in a 18 karat gold setting?

Chris: Yes, that's what I wanted to see.

Faith: Not to be rude, but I don't think that's the ring for you.

Chris: Of course, it's not for me. It's for my girlfriend. I'm going to propose to her.

Faith: Well, I do admire your taste. You picked one of the most expensive rings in this store.

Chris: How much is it?

Hope: (who is in another part of the store says loud enough for them to hear) Well, if you have to ask, maybe you can't afford it. Ha ha ha.

Chris: (starting to get mad) What the hell do you know about me? How do you know I can't afford it?

Charity: Ladies, be nice.  Just show him the ring.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 6: Seven Swans-a-swimming

***

Scene: Outside a DVD store.

Carol and Chris are walking out. Carol is wearing an oversize bulky sweater with a design of seven big swans on the front. It looks like it is size XXXL and it reaches down to her mid thigh. She's wearing black pants and her sensible shoes. Her hair is in its usual perfect tight bun.

Chris: I got the DVD's, shall we go?

They walk to the parking lot.

Chris: So we're spending the whole day together?

Carol: Yes. It's Saturday, I don't have appointments with any other clients. The Christmas party is very soon. We need to buy you a suit and get you a haircut...

Chris: (big sigh) Do I really have to?

Carol: We talked about this already. I won’t interfere with your plans because we’ll do all the stuff you would do normally.

Chris: Are you sure you are not just making an excuse so you can spend time with me?

When they get to Chris' car, Carol stands next to the passenger side until he opens the door for her to get in. They drive away.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 7: Six Geese-a-laying

Scene: Club Elf

There are six bottles of Grey Goose Vodka on the bar among many other bottles of liquor.

The club is packed with people. Waitresses in sexy Santa's elves outfits are walking among the crowd.

Carol just walked in to the bar. She's wearing her oversized swan sweater from earlier that day. She looks out of place and she knows it. This makes her uncomfortable.

***

(begin flashback)

Scene: Carol's bedroom, earlier that evening.

Carol is laying in bed zipping up a tight pair of brand new dark blue jeans. She gets up and stands in front of the mirror. With the dark blue jeans, she's wearing a cute red sleeveless blouse, with large soft ruffles, that buttons in front. She has a pair of modestly heeled cute sandals.

She purchased these items earlier at the department store. Her hair is not in its usual severe bun, but still very neat in a tight pony tail.

She has a doubtful look on her face.

She quickly puts on the bulky sweater over what she's wearing and leaves the apartment.

(end flashback)

***

Joseph sees Carol and approaches her.

Joseph: Hi! Ms Carol! I'm a big fan. I recognized you from the picture in your columns.

Carol: uh, Hi.

Joseph: I'm Joseph, I'm Chris Pascual's friend. He told me you were coming tonight.

Carol: Oh, is Chris here yet?

Joseph: Yeah, he's in the office. The Pascuals own this club.

Carol: Oh! He never mentioned that.

Joseph: Here he comes now.

Chris is walking over to them. He's wearing his new suit. Chris' eyes are on Carol's sweater. He's smiling that devastating smile of his.

Chris: Alright! Miss Manang and her bird sweater in the house! Let’s get the party started, yo!! Wooooo!!!

Carol does not look amused.

Joseph: Ignore him. I like your bird sweater, Ms Carol.

Chris: Don't just stand there. C'mon! I have a table for us.

Carol and Joseph follow Chris to a table close to the bar. There are no seats, just a high small table.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 8: Five Golden Rings

Scene: Outside Club Elf

Phone is ringing five times.

Chris is on his cellphone trying to call Carol.  He wasn't able to catch her when she ran away because Noelle grabbed his arm.  She and her friends were standing in line outside the club waiting to get in.

Noelle:  Chris!  It is you! Wow, you look hot!

The bouncer comes over.

Bouncer: Boss, is everything okay?

Holly: Did he say Boss? You're the boss here?

Bouncer: Yeah, he's the owner of Club Elf.

Ivy: Really? Chris, can you let us in? We've been waiting out here for an hour!

Chris: (to the bouncer) Okay, let them in.

Girls: Yey!  Thanks Chris.

Noelle: Chris, aren't you coming in with us?

Chris ignores them, and continues to walk quickly and call Carol on the phone but after five rings, it goes straight to voicemail.

Chris: (on the phone) Carol, let's talk about this.  Please call me.  I don't know where you live or I'd go to you right now.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 9: Four Calling Birds

Grandpa Melchor is showing the invitation for the Pascual's Annual Christmas party to Chris.  On the invitation is a beautiful artwork of four red birds with their beaks open and musical notes are coming out of them.

Chris: Umm, Lolo, do you want to watch this movie with me?

Melchor: (surprised, looks at the TV) Ah, “Miracle on 34th Street”, my favorite.  I used to watch this with your mom every Christmas.

Chris: Really?  Watching this movie was our Christmas tradition too.

Melchor: Chris, I've been meaning to tell you how happy I am about the changes in you.  I knew Miss Baltazar would be a good influence on you.

Chris: She told me we should have a talk

Melchor: We do? About what?

***

Scene: Outside Carol's apartment

Carol is walking out and she sees Chris waiting for her outside.  She pauses but walks the other way.

Chris: Carol!  Carol! C'mon, (following her)  I know you can hear me.  You can't avoid me forever.

Carol stops and turn around.

Carol: I'm very busy today.  I don't have time for this.

Chris: It's Saturday and you don't have appointments with clients, right?

Carol: No, but I have things to do.

Chris: I have an invitation for the Christmas party for you.

Carol: You didn't have to hand deliver it.

Chris: I promise I'll behave.  Please, I have a lot to tell you.

Carol: Chris, you don't have to tell me anything.

Chris: I won't leave you alone until you talk to me.  I'll tag along with you wherever you are going.

Carol: This is a bad idea.

Chris: Please... I'm going to follow you whether you want to or not.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 10: Three French Hens

Scene: Club Elf

Chris is at the bar getting drunk.  Joseph brings over three pretty girls.

Joseph:  Chris, I'd like you to meet Mademoiselles Marie, Fifi and Genevieve.  Girls, this is Mr. Christian Pascual.

Girls:  Bonsoir, Monsieur Pascual.  (tittering)

Chris: Hi.  Nice to meet you, girls.  Have a great time here tonight.

Chris turns back to his drink.  The girls look at him funny and then they leave to go dance by themselves.

Joseph: Chris, what the hell?  You just blew off some hot French stewardess tail!

Chris: I'm not in the mood, okay?

Joseph: You may not be in the mood, but I am.

Chris: Then go after them!  What does that have to do with me?

Joseph: You look like your grandma's been run over by a reindeer for days! Ha ha!

Chris barely cracked a smile.

Joseph: Aw c'mon man.  You're still thinking of Carol, it sounds likes she has way too much baggage, even for you...

Chris: Seriously dude, just leave me alone.

Noelle comes in the club with her posse.  She sees Chris at the bar and makes a beeline to him.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 11: Two Turtle Doves

Scene: Cemetery

Two doves flying around.  Carol is watching them.  The doves alternate picking up sticks and leaves and then flying up a tree.

Carol: (thinking) They're building a nest.  She must be getting ready to lay eggs.

She watches the birds for a long while until they finish.

Carol feels profound peace in her heart.

Carol: (whispering)  Thank you,  my little Angel.

Christmas Angel - EPISODE 12: A Partridge In A Pear Tree

Twelve Drummers Drumming

Scene: Christmas Parade

Twelve men in matching uniform are drumming and marching in unison.

People around them are clapping and cheering

Suddenly, the drum line is broken as someone in a disheveled Santa Claus suit runs through them.

Some of drummers fall down.  Three policemen are trying to chase the santa down.

Chris and Carol are among the revelers watching the parade.  They are standing by the sago and gulaman vendor.

Vendor: Here you go.

The vendor just handed them their drink when BAM! the santa bumps into them, almost knocking them over.  Chris keeps them from completely falling down.  But the Santa fell down hard.

Santa: Ouch!!!  Ha ha ha !  If Santa’s broken, nobody gets a present! Christmas is gonna get canceled!! Ha ha ha !

The police picked the santa up.  Santa’s hat came off and it revealed beautiful long hair.

Police: You’re a girl !!  You should be ashamed of yourself!

Police: What kind of a girl are you?!  Running around like this, drunk and crazy!

Police: Cuff her !  Take her away!!

Santa: I’m just having a little fun!!  You people don’t have any Christmas spirit….

They drag the girl away.

Chris: Carol, are you okay?

Carol: I’m fine, thank you for catching me.  One sago and gulaman bath in a lifetime is quite enough!

Chris: Sure, no problem.  Can you believe how some people behave?  Geez!!
